Needham Obituaries: Alice M. (Haggerty) Kennedy, 76

NEEDHAM, MA— Alice Marie (Haggerty) Kennedy passed in her Needham home on Jan. 13.

Kennedy was the mother of the late Rev. Daniel J. Kennedy and the beloved wife of 47 years to Daniel Joseph Kennedy.

Kennedy was the Sales Manager for Carborundum Corporation from 1957 to 19689 before devoting herself to her five children. Her primary focus was on her children, Catholic faith and helping others in need. She was also a golf enthusiast.

Kennedy is survived by children Kathleen M. Kennedy-Collins and her husband, Max, of Westwood, Patricia A. Kennedy of Needham, Anne Marie Russell and her husband, David, of Brockton, John F. Kennedy and his wife, Elizabeth, of CT and the late Rev. Daniel J. Kennedy; and grandchildren Ashley T.Kennedy, John B. Kennedy, Celia E. Kennedy and Daniel F. Russell; her sisters, Elizabeth Harlow and Eleanor Masi and her husband, Emil, all of ME.

The Eaton Funeral Home located on 1351 Highland Avenue will host visiting hours on Jan. 17 from 2 to 6 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Jan. 18 beginning at 11 a.m at St. Joseph Church located at 1382 Highland Avenue. Interment will be held on Jan. 19 at 11:30 a.m at St. Mary Cemetery in Westfield.

The family is asking for donations to be made to the Rev. Daniel J. Kennedy Scholarship Fund in lieu of Flowers.
