Needham Police To Conduct Alcohol Compliance Checks
Police will be conducting compliance checks throughout the year.
NEEDHAM, MA — Needham businesses should get ready for compliance checks this year. The Needham Police Department announced on Tuesday it would start alcohol compliance checks and continue them throughout the year. Specific dates for the checks were not released.
The purpose of these compliance checks is to ensure that liquor license holders within the Town of Needham are complying with the regulations put forth by the Town of Needham Select Board and the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission with regard to underage drinking.
The department said it may use "underage operatives" without any valid ID attempt to buy alcohol. The underage operatives might also present a valid Driver's License showing they are not 21, to test the businesses.
