Zach is a Junior at Needham High School, he was nominated by Karen Peirce, who served as an Assistant Director at the Needham Parks and Recreation. Zach has participated in numerous Parks and Recreation summer camp Programs. When Zach was looking for a project for his Bar Mitzvah, Karen recommended he call the Director of Special Needs in Newton. Zach began volunteering for with the Newton Special Athletes Saturday Sports program. He is now starting his fifth year volunteering for the Therapeutic Recreation group of Newton Parks and Recreation, helping with sports activities for special needs athletes. His role is to support and help the athletes and coaches so everyone can enjoy the program to the fullest extent.

Zach is in his second year as a student representative on the Needham High School Council, sharing ideas and opinions with the principal, teachers, and parents, and to help develop a school improvement plan. He has been a CIT at Camp Coniston this past summer, an overnight camp in NH, and is looking forward to being a counselor there this coming summer. He is on the soccer and ultimate Frisbee for NHS. Some of his other interests are watching sports, keeping up with my summer friends, and spending time with his friends and family.
