Needham's Hilary Bruel Honored With Good Person Award

NEEDHAM, MA — The Needham Youth and Family Services announced on Thursday that Hilary Hanson Bruel is the 2021 recipient of the Patrick & Patricia Forde Good Person Memorial Award.

Bruel was honored for her past work with Needham organizations including Needham SEPAC, Citizens for Needham Schools and the Needham Art Association. Bruel used her skills as a graphic designer to help organizations redesign their websites and expand their audience reach.

The award recognizes an adult in the community who has helped make Needham a better place to live through his/her volunteer work and commitment. The recipient must be a person of high character, who has contributed in some significant way to Needham children, youth, and/or families, and a person who has enhanced those with whom they interacted.

"Hilary has helped residents access supports already in place that, without her, they may not know about or understand," Needham Youth and Family Services said in a statement.

A virtual award ceremony will be held on Jan. 25 on Zoom.
