Obituary: Dr. Mary H. (Gillam) Bereday, Art Studio Director at Weekday School at Riverside Church in New York

Mary was a graduate of Skidmore College, 1952 and received her Master’s and Doctorate at Columbia University Teachers College. She directed the Art Studio at the Weekday School at Riverside Church in New York for many years. 

She was also a faithful member of the West End Collegiate Church in Manhattan where she was a certified Stephen Minister.

She leaves her children, Cornelia Krystyna Burnham and her husband Stephen of Newton and Thaddeus Bereday and his wife Margaret Russell of Tampa, Fla.; her grandchildren John, Margaux and Samuel Burnham and Jarvis, Halina, Wright and Zigmund Bereday; her sister Gretchen Connolly and her husband John of Springfield, Va.; and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Cornelius Gillam. 

Memorial Service in the First Church Cambridge Congregational, 11 Garden St., Cambridge, Saturday, Jan. 4 at 3 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited. A Memorial Service will be held in New York in the spring.
