OUI Arrest, Mailbox Hit And Run: Needham Police Log
Here are some of the calls made to the Needham Police Department.
NEEDHAM, MA β Here's a sample of some types of calls the Needham Police Department respond to each day from the police logs, which are public. No arrests were made last week but multiple incidents were reported.
Arrests do not imply conviction and just because someone reports a crime does not mean it happened that way.
Monday, Dec. 16

1:30 a.m.: An officer conducting a motor vehicle stop on Highland Ave. After a brief investigation a 47-year-old resident of Newton was placed under arrest for Operation after Suspension.
10:40 a.m.: An officer stopped a car for a traffic violation on Highland Ave. It was determined that the driver had a suspended license. The driver, a 52-year-old man from Newton, was cited and will be summoned into court for impeded operation, operate a vehicle after suspension and no license in possession. The car was inventoried and towed from the scene.

11:30 a.m.: As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Great Plain Ave, a 28-year-old man Needham resident was summons to Dedham District Court for driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
12:00 p.m.: An officer responded to a Jarvis Cir. residence for the report of credit card fraud. The matter is under investigation.
2:30 p.m.: An officer conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Dedham Avenue (public way) and Alder Brook Ln. (private way). The driver, 45-year-old Dover women, was issued a citation for having an expired inspection sticker and operating a vehicle with revoked/suspended registration. The driver will be summoned to Dedham District Court for the violations.
5:15 p.m.: An officer responded to a Rosemary Street address for a report of harassing phone calls. The report was taken. The offending party was advised of the repercussions of continued unwanted calls and not to call anymore. The party agreed not to call.
Tuesday, Dec. 17
11:40 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to Crestview Rd for a reported suspicious car.
2:30 p.m.: An officer took a call of fraudulent activity from a resident of Jarvis Circle. The matter is under investigation.
3:00 p.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop on Highland Ave for an expired registration. The owner/driver of the vehicle, a 45-year-old woman from Revere, will be charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating a unregistered motor vehicle.
11:00 p.m.: An officer stopped a car on Central Ave. After a brief investigation, a 62-year-old Framingham resident was arrested for a default warrant and Unlicensed Operation.
Friday, Dec. 20
11:00 a.m.: An officer responded to a Chambers St residence for the report of lost property. A report was taken, and the matter is under investigation.
2:50 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a Reservoir Avenue address for a report of a past incident of hit and run to a mailbox. The matter is under investigation at this time.
4:25 p.m.: Needham Police and Needham Fire Department responded to the area of St. Mary Street for a two-car crash. After a brief investigation, a 24-year-old woman from Mattapan will be summonsed to Dedham District Court for operation after suspended license.
5:00 p.m.: An officer responded to a Stonefield Court address for report of a damaged mailbox. Itβs suspected a moving company inadvertently struck the mailbox with their truck. The homeowner will attempt to resolve this issue with the company.
5:35 p.m.: Needham Police responded to a Hillside Ave address. It was reported that property was possibly taken from motor vehicle sometime during the day. A report was taken, and the matter is still open.
6:50 p.m.: Officers responded to Kendrick St over the highway for a party walking onto the northbound ramp to Rt 128. The woman was lost and look for the bus stop She was dropped off there.
Saturday, Dec. 21
12:30 a.m.: Officers responded to a report of an erratic driver on Central Ave. The car was found stopped in the middle of the road with what appeared to be an intoxicated driver behind the wheel. After an investigation the operator, a 59-year-old Boston man was cited and arrested for OUI LIQUOR.
Sunday, Dec. 22
1:30 p.m.: Officers responded to a Chestnut St business for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival all parties were calm. An unwanted party was escorted off the premises, without incident, and advised them they were not welcome back.
3:30 p.m.: Officers responded to a disturbance at a Highland Ave business. A man was not trespassed and left without issue.
