Results are In: How 'Livable' is Needham?

Needham recently got its results from the National Citizen Survey’s “livability report.” As the report begins, “the phrase ‘livable community” is used here to evoke a place that is not simply habitable, but that is desirable. It is not only where people do live, but where they want to live.’

The report rated quality of life, community characteristics, participation and special topics.

What the NCS’s report found was that Needham residents enjoy an “exceptional quality of life,” and that almost all residents rated it as “excellent” or “good” and 9 in 10 would likely recommend the town to others as a place to live. Safety rated as a key focus, and at least 9 and 10 felt “safe overall.” The economy ranks high on the concerns of most Needham residents, and most felt positive about the health of the town.
