Town Of Needham: Local Stores, Artists Pop-Up In Needham As Part Of Project: Pop-Up

The Town of Needham is welcoming Wesleaf Designs & Décor and Seaspray & Shorelines by Starboard to the neighborhood as part of Project: Pop-Up, a pilot program in partnership with the City of Newton and the Commonwealth aimed at filling vacant storefronts with small retailers, restaurants and artists as we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Plant Design Studio by Wesleaf Designs & Décor™, located at 1020 Great Plain Avenue, is a woman and minority owned business featuring an exclusive collection of luxe easy-care plant designs, stylish decor pieces, and a dedicated space for plant events, workshops, and plant care/design consultations. Seapray and Shorelines by Starboard, located at 1110 Great Plain Avenue, is a resort inspired lifestyle experience focusing on summer clothing and accessories for the whole family. Its mission is to allow a fun shopping experience for the summer season. Both brands are excited to introduce their businesses to a wider audience through their brick and mortar pop-ups and will have access to a wide range of support services to help ensure their success. 

Both shops will be open in Needham through August.

With grant funding provided by the Massachusetts Office of Business Development, Needham and Newton contracted with UpNext, a Newton-based, woman-owned business that plays matchmaker between emerging brands and available spaces. UpNext worked the Needham’s Economic Development Manager and with local real estate companies to identify vacant spaces and helped select the small businesses to occupy those spaces this summer. More than 75 emerging brands and entrepreneurs applied to be a part of Project: Pop-Up. Twelve were selected for the opportunity and will be popping up for the next serval months in Needham and Newton.
