Audition to sing with Youth pro Musica

Newton-based youth chorus opens auditions September 4

Calling young singers in grades 2-12 who enjoy singing, performing, and traveling with others!

Youth pro Musica, The Greater Boston Youth Chorus, invites you to audition for its 2018-2019 season with concerts in October, December and June. Auditions for Youth pro Musica will be held on Tuesday, September 4 at Second Church, 60 Highland in West Newton, MA.

Youth pro Musica offers three groups which rehearse weekly on Tuesdays in West Newton:

β€’ Training Chorus: Girls & boys, approximately grades 2-5. Rehearsal: 4:30–5:30 pm

β€’ Repertory Chorus: Girls & boys with unchanged voices, grades 5-8. Rehearsal: 6:00–7:30 pm

β€’ High School Ensemble: Girls & boys with changed voices, grades 9-12. Rehearsal: 7:45–9:15 pm

Informal auditions are by appointment with YpM’s Artistic Director, Robert Barney, and take approximately 15 minutes. Formal musical training is not a prerequisite for younger singers, but some prior musical experience is necessary for admission to the high school division.

There are five performances already scheduled for the year ahead and we are planning a music trip to New York City at the end of the school year.
