Car Fire At Newton-Wellesley Parking Garage Prompts Evacuation
A portion of the hospital was evacuated for a brief time Monday after a car caught fire in the garage.
NEWTON, MA — A car fire Monday in the parking garage at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital, was so smokey it caused a portion of the hospital to evacuate briefly, officials said.
No one was injured in the fire, and crews were able to keep it to the one car, according to fire officials.
The temperature Monday in the upper 90s didn't help make things easier on the firefighters there to fight the flames.

"This was a hot one, as the concrete kept the heat and smoke in the garage," the fire department said in a statement.
