The City of Newton will receive approximately $63 million in American Recovery Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) funding.
There are specific guidelines from the U.S. Department of Treasury on how they can be used. Two critical ones are that the funds must be used to respond to the public health emergency and its negative economic impacts, and to reflect revenue loss by the municipality.
