Clover Food Lab To Open In Newton

NEWTON, MA — A new vegetarian restaurant is set to open July 9.

Clover Food Lab is slated to open its doors at TRIO in Newton in July. Since 2008, the vegetarian fast-food restaurant has grown from a food truck to a dozen locations across Greater Boston. This will be its first location in Newton.

A MIT grad and a Harvard MBA came up with the idea to shrink the ecological footprint of the food industry by making fresh, local, sustainable vegetarian food as common and convenient as the fare at places like Burger King.

The Newtonville location will feature Clover’s first ever espresso bar in partnership with local favorite George Howell Coffee.

As part of its opening day welcome, it plans to offer a “pay what you want” event for all of Clover’s menu on July 9 and 10. All proceeds will be donated directly to the Newton Schools Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing excellence and equity in Newtown Public Schools.

The space is set to open at 845 Washington st., close to the Barn.
