Italian Restaurant Closes On Centre Street In Newton

It opened in 2017. But, just three years later Cupola has closed its doors.

NEWTON, MA β€” Cupola, an Italian restaurant in Newton Centre that billed itself as an upscale takeout restaurant, closed its doors quietly for the final time last month, as the Boston Restaurants Talk blog first reported.

The restaurant was known for pastas and build-your-own pizza options. And although it had been in the old Bottega Fiorgentina spot since 2017, it never quite changed its sign from a banner that announced its opening.

A note on the restaurant door dated Jan. 20 thanks customers for their support, but offers no explanation about why they decided to close.

Cupola had mostly good reviews over the years, and did what appeared to be a steady Uber Eats business.
