James Rooney, Painter, Elks Member, Passes Away

NEWTON, MA -- Obituary via Magni Funeral Home:

Rooney, James C. of Newton, January 9, 2016.

Son of the late Margaret E (Feeney) and Robert J. Rooney.

Loving Brother of Robert Rooney Jr. and his wife MaryEllen of Newton, Sharon Falvey and her husband Joe of Lancaster, Kevin Rooney and his wife Kim of Watertown and the late William P. Rooney.

Dear Brother-in-law of Jeanne McDonough-Rooney of Newton.

He will also be missed by his two sons Daniel and Thomas. He was a proud grandfather of Connor.

Also survived by many nephews, a niece and a great niece Charlotte.

Jimmy was a 31-year member of the Painter’s Union #35, Boston. He also belonged to the Newton Lodge of Elks and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Visiting hours in the Andrew J. Magni & Son Funeral Home, 365 Watertown St, Rt. 16, Newton, Wednesday from 4-8PM and again Thursday morning at 9:30AM, before proceeding to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington St, Newton for a Funeral Mass at 10:30AM. Burial Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
