Little Singer from Newton Has Big Voice

Thursday night, Clark Rubinshtein will have a solo opera recital at the New England Conservatory, quite impressive considering he is only 11 years old.

The sixth-grader from Newton sings tenor, and has already had lead roles in "Marriage of Figaro and "Aleko," according to the New England Conservatory. The young singer's nickname is "Little Caruso," named after the famed Italian tenor Enrico Caruso. 

Rubinshtein's mother said he could sing before he talked, and has a knack for languages, including Russian, French, Spanish and German, according to a story on WBZ-TV's website.

Clark will sing with Izdebski, Alexander Prokhorov and soprano Olga Lisovaskaya and the Commonwealth Lyric Theater orchestra, directed by Lydia Yankovskaya.
