Music Returns To Newton Parks
The New Phil Strings will be playing July 26 at the Newton Centre Playground for free.

NEWTON, MA β Remember music in the park? It's back. After months of staying in doors and away from in-person shared activity, let alone heading to a venue to listen to an ensemble, the state is slowly reopening and along with it more ways to safely venture out and enjoy the sounds and sights of the walls and screens that make up your home. Sunday, the New Phil Strings will be playing at the Newton Centre Playground.
A small ensemble of string players from Newtonβs New Philharmonia Orchestra presents β Americana Potpourri β a "Pops" style presentation that will feature sounds of America including short works of Sousa, Joplin, Beethoven and Strauss along with colorful Americana favorites.
What's different? Performers will maintain a 25 foot distance from audience. The grounds will be marked to help keep households at least 6 feet apart. Audience members are also encouraged to maintain at least 6 foot distance and wear a face covering. No restrooms will be made available to the public.
