New Year's Day 2020 In Newton: What's Open, Closed
Find out what's opening and what's keeping its doors closed on the 2020 holiday.
NEWTON, MA β Happy New Year! As you get your resolutions in order and step into the new year, it might be helpful to know what's open and closed. The City of Newton's offices will be closed on Jan. 1 for New Year's Day, but they will be open normal hours on Thursday, Jan. 2. There will be a one-day delay for trash pickup: Wednesday on Thursday, Thursday on Friday and Friday on Saturday.

- The Station Diner: New Years Eve: Closes At 3 p.m. New Years Day: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Johnny's Luncheonette: NYE Closed at 3 p.m.. New Years Day: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Rox Diner: NYE: Closed at 2 p.m. New Year's Day 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- Cabot's: NYE Closed at 2 p.m. New Year's Day: Closed
- Retail stores: Open at owner's discretion
- Supermarkets: Open at owner's discretion
- Liquor stores: Open
- Banks: Closed
- Gas stations: Open
- West Newton Cinema: Open
- What's playing: Little Women, Frozen 2, Cats, Uncut Gems, Knives Out and Bombshell.
- Parking: Free
