NEWTON, MA β€” As plans for 4th of July celebrations ramp up, trips to the grocery stores in and around Newton are already being made. Stop & Shop and Whole Foods are among the places nearby that will be open on Independence Day.

But it’s almost inevitable that a supply of condiments, hot dogs, potato chips and other 4th of July classics will be forgotten on the day. Luckily for last-minute shoppers, the majority of grocery stores will still be open to help out.

Here are the grocery stores that will be open on the Fourth of July nearby, along with a couple that won’t.

What’s Closed:

Costco: All Costco locations are closed on July 4.

Trader Joe’s: All stores will be closed on July 4.

What’s Open:

BJ’s: BJ’s Wholesale Club in Waltham will be open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Hannaford: Open regular Sunday hours, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Market Basket: All locations are open on July 4.

Roche Bros.: Open regular hours.

Shaw's & Star Market: Nearby locations - like the ones at Chestnut Hill, Auburndale and Newtonville are open regular hours on July 4.

Stop & Shop: Stop & Shop will be open regular hours.

Target: Target locations are open. Store hours will depend on the store.

Wegmans: Open regular hours on July 4.

Whole Foods: Open normal hours, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m
