Newton GOP Leader Gets Coronavirus After White House Visit
Tom Mountain, chair of the Newton Republican City Committee, thinks he contracted the coronavirus during the White House Hanukkah party.

NEWTON, MA β Tom Mountain, chair of the Newton Republican City Committee and vice chair of the Massachusetts Republican State Committee, said he believes he contracted the coronavirus when he attended the White House Hanukkah party earlier this month.
The party was held Dec. 9. Photos of him at the event show him maskless, wearing a bandana around his neck. He said that attendees were supposed to wear masks, but not everybody did.
βI didnβt have (the coronavirus) when I went to Washington,β he told the Jewish Journal. βTwo days later, it was full-blown.β

He said he went to Brigham and Women's Hospital twice and four of his family members also came down with the virus, including his 85-year-old mother-in-law.
