Newton Man Accused Of Stealing Designer Clothing From SUV

NEWTON, MA β€” A Newton man was arraigned on felony breaking and entering charges Tuesday, after residents said he was caught red-handed early that morning.

Lt. Bruce Apotheker said police are investigating whether this is connected to a series of car and home break-ins on Countryside Road.

According to the Middlesex District Attorney's office Peter K. Ciesluk, 36 of Newton, was arraigned on the charges of breaking and entering at night in connection with breaking and entering an SUV and taking designer clothing and other items valued at $1,300.

Judge Michael Fabbri ordered Ciesluk held on $250 bail with the condition that he stay away from Countryside Road, not have any drugs and submit to random screens.

He is set to return to court May 11.

Newton is on high alert after more than a dozen house break-ins during the past month.

Law enforcement have put out a call to residents with street facing security cameras to share their contact information to make for quicker investigations should something happen in their neighborhood.
