Newton Police Log: Cars Broken Into at Boston Sports Club, Car Vandalized
The following information was provided by the Newton Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Jan. 2
A woman reported that someone kicked her front driver-side door while she was parked on Lincoln Road. There was a small dent in the door.Β
Someone smashed the front passenger-side window of a vehicle parked on Woodward Street. A large rock was found on the floorboard of the driver side of the vehicle. Two sets of headphones were taken, and the ignition was broken.
Police summonsed a 15-year-old Newton resident for threatening to commit a crime.Β
Jan. 3
Three vehicles parked at Boston Sports Club on Wells Avenue had their front driver-side windows smashed. A purse was taken from the first vehicle, a wallet from the second and a purse from the third.Β
Police arrested Patrick John Devlin, 49, of 1784 Washington St. in Walpole, on a warrant from Newton District Court for three counts of assault and battery on a police officer, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, one count of child endangerment while driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of driving under the influence of alcohol - a third offense.Β
