Newton Police Seek Highland Avenue Break-In Suspects

Police said two people got out of an SUV between 7 and 8 p.m. Friday and were seen hurrying back to it 20 minutes later after a break-in.

NEWTON, MA β€” Newton police are seeking the public's help identifying the occupants of a silver SUV who might have been involved with a series of break-ins on Highland Avenue Friday night.

Police said the SUV β€” shown below β€” was seen on Highland Avenue between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. when two of the three people in the SUV got out and walked toward a home that was later reported broken into. Police said about 20 minutes later the two passengers were seen hurrying away from the house and getting back into the SUV.

Police said one of the suspects was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and the other was wearing dark clothing. Both were wearing masks.
