Newton Power Outages Reported

NEWTON, MA - Keep those flashlights handy.

Eversource Energy is reporting 332 people in Newton are experiencing power outages. More than 700 people had previously been reported to be without power, but that number has since dropped.

Eversource serves 39,944 customers in the town.

Weather officials issued a high wind warning for Thursday and advised Bay Staters that there was an increased risk of fire.

According to the National Weather Service, winds capable of downing small tree limbs and branches, knocking out power in isolated areas, would be strongest around midday.
