Newton Realtor, Judy Moses, 64, Killed By Teen Driver: DA
She was known to be a very active Newton businesswoman, according to the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce.

NEWTON, MA β On Sunday Judy Moses, a Newton based realtor, was in Medford showing a home when she was hit by a car near the corner of Spring and Emerald streets. The driver, a teenager allegedly under the influence of drugs was charged in connection with her death on Monday. Moses was 64.
Moses was the owner and agent at Pathway Home Realty Group and was doing what she was passionate about at the time, according to folks who knew her at the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce: Helping others find a home.
"We all loved Judy. This is just so sad. It's going to be everybody's loss," said Lise Elcock of the chamber.

Friends in the business describe Moses as a friend to all.
"So so saddened and shocked by this tragic news. Many of us, including Judy, started out more than 30 years ago selling real estate. Judy was always gracious, kind and fair. She was thoughtful and went out of her way to better the lives of others," said Michele Grusby Friedler in a Facebook post.

Her Facebook page is filled with posts about her loves: from the photo of a porcupine unfortunate-loving dog named Gus who turned 12 in 2016 to younger bird-dogs learning the ropes a couple years later. There's a photo of a little garden where she would plant perennials each year. A clip from a newspaper shows a photo of her father, Bob Moses being honored last September. Several photos feature her husband, Charlie, one in February 2016 shows him holding a vase of roses and a card for her. The caption: My Early Valentine's Day Present. She indicated that she liked the Pats, Tom Petty and Flashback Comedy.
"One of the kindest most caring people in the business. People are in shock at the news," said Todd Glaskin a real estate broker in Brookline.
And Moses was a regular and very engaged member of the chamber. For the last couple years she was designated a super networker because she attended so many events, said Elcock.
She was especially involved in the women in the chamber events and was described as a straight shooter with a dry sense of humor. And a lover of her dogs.
"She always had a good dog story," said Elcock who remembered Moses' love of her dogs and ability to captivate anyone around with a story about their antics.
"You could count on Judy to show up to the events and when she was there everyone was always so pleased to see her," said Elcock who saw her just Tuesday at one of the events.
Moses lived in Chestnut Hill and was a real estate broker at Pathway Home realty in Newton. But she was also active in her hometown of Brookline.
Photos of her on Facebook show her smiling with members of the Brookline Rotary Club, of which she was also a member.
"She will be remembered for her big heart and generosity, dedication to literacy, and love of animals. Judy embodied the core values of Rotary. She gave of herself to her family and friends, her vocation and clients, and to service. Judy treated all with fairness, kindness, and generosity, creating a world that was better for her presence," said Claudia Dell'Anno who is president of the Brookline Rotary Club.
From social media to her agent profile, Moses' life was one she appears to have lived deeply.
"I feel blessed to love what I do. I feel I was born to help people buy and sell homes. It is my ministry. A solid home is foundational for a sense of well being and success in life. It is where we go to relax, renew our energy and seek shelter from the storm. It is where we break bread with family and friends and shape our children and their future. I feel grateful to each client that I help for allowing me the privilege to be a part of such an important piece of their life. I am grateful that I am a person who is fortunate enough to have found the work she loves and to be able to serve the world in this way," she wrote on her agent profile.
Moses was a Realtor since 1986. She grew up in the greater Boston area attending Winthrop High School and then Simmons College, according to her LinkedIn profile. In addition to the Chestnut Hill home she owned a home in Rhode Island and had agents working with her company there, according to her web page.
Moses worked for years on the Brookline Rotary literacy committee helping Home for Little Wanderers and recently working on a new literacy project for Brookline Housing Authority.
"Judy tried to make every situation better and in the process earned the love and respect of all she touched," said Susan Rack.
The Newton Needham Chamber is working out the details on how to best honor Moses. Details to come on that soon, they said.
Moses leaves behind her husband and dogs.
