Newton's Gath Pool And Crystal Lake To Open For Summer Swimming
Here's where to go in Newton to cool off.

NEWTON, MA β After a year with beaches and pools closed, the official swim season in Newton is set to begin at both the Gath Pool and Crystal Lake bathhouse June 21.
Here's what to know about both:

Permits are issued to Newton residents at rates of:
- $55 per adult (anyone 18 and older)
- $35 for students (anyone ages 6-17) and seniors (62 and older)

Crystal Lake
Swimming is permitted only in the designated beach area and swimmers must have a permit (see the rates above). In addition to the seasonal passes, daily use permits are available to residents at a rate of $5 per adult and free for children under 6. Non-residents can swim for the day at a rate of $10 regardless of age.
Hours June 21 to June 27: Weekdays: 3 pm-Dusk, Weekends: 1 pm-Dusk
June 28 to August 27: Weekdays: 10 am-Dusk, Weekends: 1 pm-Dusk
Gath Memorial Pool
Again, you'll need a pass to enjoy Newton's Outdoor Summer Swimming Pool, situated at 256 Albemarle Rd, Newtonville.
Hours June 21 to June 27: Weekdays: 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. general swim. Weekends: noon to 6 p.m. (adult swim on the weekends is 11 a.m. to noon).
June 28- Aug. 27: Weekdays: adults only noon to 1, general swim 1 to 6 p.m., Weekends: adult swim 11 a.m. to noon, general swim noon to 6 p.m.
