Olympia Fencing Center is New England's largest and most successful fencing club, and we like to stand by our reputation in finding new talents and producing world-class champions.
The "secret" to our success is now out, and we're happy to share:
- Small student/teacher ratio: we offer two to three senior coaches per class, in addition to a few junior coaches.
- Leading by example: our older and more advanced students, currently holding high national rankings, are happy to volunteer and help with the beginner classes.
Our young students are looking up to them, and are eager to follow in their steps. - No age barriers: an amazing fencing community of all ages, where young fencers are encouraged to duel and dialogue !
An image often seen in our club is a six-year-old fencing someone ten times their age. Our young students are protected, taken seriously, and inspired by their older peers. - Diversity and inclusion: Olympia Fencing Center is proudly harboring students from twenty-seven countries, such an accurate reflection of our home city, Cambridge, one of the most diverse cities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts!
Our men and women coaches and staff are extremely proud to embrace students across race, religion, and gender, all part of a big, happy family with one thing in common: their love for fencing.
Olympia FC has been founded in 2012, by multiple Romanian and Balkan champion, Daniel Hondor, and has started with only twelve students.
In 2018, our club has received the USA Fencing Award for Excellence in Membership, as the fastest-growing fencing club in the country. Other awards and recognitions followed, including the President Award in 2019, for outstanding success at the international level.
Proud holder of a youth Bronze Olympic medal (2018 Youth Olympic Games, Buenos Aires, AG), a World Silver champion in Women's Epee, many national and international titles, including an NCAA Bronze, our club became a leading force in the fencing world.
