Terry O'Reilly's To Close, Baramor To Open In Newton Centre

Terry O'Reilly's is under new management and will reopen May 13 or 14 as Baramor.

NEWTON, MA β€” This weekend will be Terry O'Reilly's last as we know it. The pub will close for the last time as Terry O'Reilly's Sunday night at 5 p.m. The plan is to reopen on May 13 or 14 as Baramor, according to an email from the restaurant.

Before it was Terry's the neighborhood bar with music and politicians celebrating wins, it was Sabra for nearly three decades. Sabra officially closed its doors on March 2012 and, as chronicled through the restaurant's Facebook page photos, underwent a major facelift. The new decor aimed to create the feel of a cozy, neighborhood pub, with a page in its menu, even, of old Sabra favorites. And that is what it did for the past seven years.

Now, another owner has taken the reins at the pub on Union Street and has big plans for the space. The owner has been operating at Terry O'Reilly's Pub watching the way things work for a few months now, but plans to close the doors after this weekend to reopen shortly after as Baramor.
