Thanksgiving Football: Newton North Tigers V Brookline Warriors

NEWTON, MA — Newton North heads to Brookline on Thanksgiving morning. As tradition has dictated for the past century or so, the two will face off that holiday morning in high school football. The 2019 game is slated to be (mercifully) warmer than last year, with temperatures predicted in the upper 40s. It's still a good idea to bring the mittens, the hot beverages and your best cheer, but at least it's not 16 degrees.

After facing each other during the regular season in recent seasons the teams will play each other for the first time this season on Thursday.

Newton North won five straight Thanksgiving Day games between and 2013-2017. In 2017 North beat Brookline 41-8 and last year North brought in another win. But don't let the recent streak fool you. Historically, the teams have held their own against each other.
