Three Newton Skaters to Perform at Skating Spectacular Nov. 29th
Newton's Chloe & Brendan Man and Newton Centre's Miranda Lloyd to skate at Boston's Frog Pond during Tree Lighting Skating Spectacular
The Skating Club of Boston, New England’s premiere skating training facility, will host their annual Boston Tree Lighting Skating Spectacular at the Boston Common Frog Pond on Thursday, November 29 at 5:00 pm. Newton residents and siblings, Chloe & Brendan Man, will be featured singles skaters while Newton Centre resident, Miranda Lloyd, will be a featured ice dancing skater along with her partner TJ Carey.
In addition, this year’s event will feature 2006 World Champion, 2007 National Champion and Olympian Kimmie Meissner.
The Skating Spectacular, which is free and open to the public, will showcase Boston’s top skating talent. There will be skating performances by:

"The Tree Lighting Skating Spectacular is a great showcase of our local skating talent," said Doug Zeghibe, Executive Director, The Skating Club of Boston. "These young skaters train throughout the year for competitions, and it’s a a very special experience for them to skate outdoors at the Frog Pond for the enjoyment of skaters and non-skaters alike."
Following the show, Mayor Marty Walsh will turn on the lights at the 77th annual Tree Lighting on Boston Common.
The Frog Pond, which was voted the #1 ice skating rink in the U.S. in 2017, will be closed during the day on November 29th to set up for the event, but will be open special hours after the show from 6:30 pm-10:00 pm.
