West Street Tavern & Restaurant in Newton Closed Amid Pandemic
West Street Tavern is among the thousands of restaurants that haven't made it through the pandemic.

NEWTON, MA β Another popular Newton restaurant has folded. According to its Facebook page, the West Street Tavern & Restaurant in Nonantum is closed permanently.
The phone has been disconnected and email messages to the restaurant returned to sender. The Tavern opened on West Street near the corner of Watertown Street in 2008, and had been a popular go-to.
It's not clear what pushed the restaurant over the edge and into closure, but according to the Massachusetts Restaurant Association thousands have been forced to shut down permanently in the past year as people stay home amid the pandemic.
