Where Can You 'Park & Pedal' in Newton?
The initiative designed to free up the streets in some of Newton's employment centers kicked off Friday.

NEWTON, MA β The Park & Pedal initiative launched in Newton Friday, at a ceremony co-hosted by Mayor Setti Warren, Newton Director of Transportation Nicole Freedman and David Montague, founder of Park & Pedal and Montague Bicycles.
The program consists of a free network of parking hubs located in cycling distance from major employment hubs, allowing users to park their car and ride the rest of the way to work. By participating in Park & Pedal, commuters can avoid delays as they try to get to work on time by opting to bike the final short distance.
"Itβs a win-win for employers and employees: being involved in the program promises to deliver healthy commuters to their workplaces, while helping reduce Newton, and Boston's carbon footprint," Montague said in a statement. "The Newton Park & Pedal hubs are positioned at various distances from local employment centers and near bike paths into Boston thereby offering a manageable distance, and a low stress route for cycling to work."
