Weather permitting, Newton's DPW is planning on continuing curbside pickups of yard waste through Dec. 18 this year.Leaves on sidewalks and streets that are near homes are the responsibility of that resident to clean, remind Newton officials. As with trash and recycling carts, yard waste must be at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the day of your collection.Note that the City of Newton will once again be collecting holiday trees so they may be disposed of after holiday celebrations end. Tree pickups at curbside will be held during the weeks of Jan. 4 and Jan. 11.
