Your Guide: Explore Historic Newtonville Sunday

Get to know Newtonville ... the Newtonville that existed long before you came to the village.

Can you imagine Newtonville without the Mass Pike? Or Newton North High School?

What about the days when the Garden City's now-vibrant Newtonville featured not much more than farmland?

Harvard graduate student and Historic Newton intern Tracy Lindboe will help you picture these periods of Newtonville's history through the words and narratives of its residents during Sunday's Historic Newton Walk, "Voices of Newtonville: A Community’s History Through its Own Eyes."

The Schedule:

Sunday, July 28, 2 p.m. - Meet at Newton North High School (the parking lot at Elm Road and Walnut Street)
2 p.m.-4 p.m. - Walk the streets of Newtonville, guided by Lindboe, and listen as the village's history unfolds through historic perspectives and the words of Newtonville's past residents.

Cost:

- Free
