Bertucci's Goes Bankrupt, Closes 15 Restaurants

Bertucci's, based in Massachusetts, filed for bankruptcy this week and closed restaurants in Boston and Taunton.

NORTHBOROUGH, MA — Bertucci's, the Massachusetts-based Italian restaurant chain, filed for bankruptcy, the company announced Monday. As part of the move, the company closed 15 restaurants, including one in Boston and another in Taunton. Fifty-nine restaurants in 10 states and Washington D.C. will remain open, according to Bertucci's CEO Brian Wright.

Wright claimed the bankruptcy filing will position the struggling chain for "significant future growth."

"We are grateful for the service and loyalty of our team members and are looking forward to focusing on a return to Bertucci's roots: authentic, high quality, fresh ingredients that guests and team members alike crave and care about," Wright said in a statement.
