Here Are The Businesses Northborough Residents Want In The City

One thing was clear, residents do not want another pizza place.

NORTHBOROUGH, MA — Northborough's small business community is still growing and while residents have options at their doorstep, there's always room for more. Patch wanted to know what kinds of new businesses residents would like to see in Northborough and residents flooded the Facebook post comments with ideas. Not only did residents have suggestions for what they wanted, they know exactly what they don't want — more pizza places.

It's hard to list all of the businesses residents want to see come to town (there were over 30 comments with suggestions) but here are some of the most popular answers:

Entertainment

The most popular answer on resident's entertainment wish list was an entertainment center that focused on teens or a venue where residents could host events and parties. Another entertainment request focused on seniors, such as a senior center.

Shopping

When it comes to shopping, Northborough residents seem to be in desperate need of a bookstore. Several commenters asked for an independently owned bookstore along with a garden shop or florist, convenience store or a Woolworths.

Restaurants

The majority of comments listed restaurants or eateries. Most residents who commented mentioned wanting a restaurant that was family-friendly or offered healthy alternatives, like vegan or vegetarian options.
