It's All Rainbows and Sunshine in Northborough

NORTHBOROUGH, MA — Hey Northborough people: if you smile a lot when you're home, here's why. You live in one of the happiest places in Massachusetts.

That's according to a recent study conducted by career experts Zippia, which measured happiness based on a number of factors. Northborough ranked at number 8 in the survey. Zippia measured happiness by income, education, employment, commute, cost of living, family, home ownership and poverty rate.

"That’s a ton of fun — and happiness — for the whole family, backed by science. The data all comes from the 2010-2014 American Community Survey," wrote Zippia, which gathered data for 115 places in Massachusetts with more than 2,000 people.

According to Zippia, Northborough has a population of 14,155, 73.2 percent own their own home, and 55.7 percent are married.
