MA Gas Prices Up 5 Cents This Week

Drivers are getting hit at the pump, as gas prices went back up this week. Where are the the lowest in Northborough?

NORTHBOROUGH, MA — Drivers are taking a little bit of a hit after several weeks of dropping prices, with gas prices in Massachusetts up five cents this week.

AAA Northeast's Dec. 5 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.11 per gallon. That's seven cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.18. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was five cents lower at $2.06.

“Stable crude oil prices have buffered us from dramatic price swings in recent weeks, but a rise in the price of crude is now pushing up prices at the pump,” said Mary Maguire, director of public and legislative affairs for AAA Northeast, in a statement.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 40 cents, from a low of $1.99 to a high of $2.39.
