Man Apprehended In Bellingham Stabbing

BELLINGHAM — A suspect is in custody after his arrest for the stabbing of a middle-aged man at 136 Maple St. yesterday afternoon, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Bellingham Police received a 911 call at about 1:23 p.m. The victim was discovered in the home. He was transported to Milford Hospital and later transferred to UMass-Memorial Hospital on Lake Avenue in Worcester. He was listed in stable condition.

William J. Sterling III, 58, also of Bellingham, was arrested yesterday and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife). He will be arraigned in Milford District Court on Monday.
