The annual tree lighting began in 1968 in honor of the memory of Neil Ellsworth, an Army private first class, who was killed in Vietnam in 1967 at the age of 19.
This event will be the grand finale to the 14th Annual Northborough Holiday Trolley. The Trolley is a ride up and down Main Street from 12pm to 5pm, sponsored by local merchants and small businesses. A raffle will be held at the tree lighting for those patrons who participated in the trolley collecting raffle tickets from retailers and restaurants along the route.
