Northborough Fire Dept. Receives Face Shields
The department was given a dozen face shields from an organization donating PPE to first responders in the MetroWest.
NORTHBOROUGH, MA — The Northborough Fire Department was fitted with some new protective gear thanks to a donation from the Face Shields For First Responders - MetroWest organization. The fire department was given a dozen shields on Friday.
Northborough was one of the 25 communities the organization has a goal to serve. Started by Bob Vinci, a Harvard resident and engineer, the organization makes medically protective face shields available at no cost to fire departments and ambulance services.
The organization has already delivered over 180 face shields to 15 fire departments.

The organizations GoFundMe page lists a goal of raising $5,000. The organization writes in the description that it is trying to provide 1,000 protective shields to local first responders by the end of April to mid-May. If they meet the $5,000 goal, the organization says it will use the funds to buy four additional production machines and the materials and supplies necessary to make 50 shields a day.
