Ramp Closures on I-290 Westbound In Northborough This Week

Nighttime drivers, take note.

NORTHBOROUGH, MA—The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced that paving operations have been scheduled for the right-hand travel lane overnight this week along the I-290 westbound in Northborough.

During the work, there will be intermittent ramp closures scheduled during the hours of 9 p.m. through 4 a.m., through Thursday, May 24 at exit 25 A/B (Solomon Pond Mall Road) and exit 24 (Church Street).

  • Overnight on Monday, May 21, the exit 25 A/B westbound on ramps and off ramps will be closed. During the work, traffic looking to exit the highway at these locations will be detoured to exit 24 (Church Street) and directed to follow the detour signage in place. Traffic looking to enter I-290 westbound from this locations will be directed to utilize I-290 eastbound in order to access I-495 southbound to exit 24A (Route 20 eastbound).
  • Overnight on Tuesday, May 22, through Thursday, May 24 the I-290 exit 24 (Church Street) westbound on and off ramps will be closed between the hours of 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. Traffic looking to exit I-290 at this location will be directed to utilize exit 23 B (Rte. 140). Traffic looking to enter I-290 westbound from Church Street in Northborough will be directed to I-290 eastbound in order to reverse direction at Solomon Pond Road - exit 25 B.

MassDOT encourages the public to be mindful of potential traffic impacts. Those traveling through the area should reduce speed and use caution.
