Retired Police Captain From Northborough Paul Bridges Dies At 69

Bridges, a Northborough resident, retired in 2010.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—Retired Police Captain Paul Bridges, 69, of Northborough, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Saturday, August 19, 2017. He was born in Framingham and was the oldest son of the late Loretta (Martin) and Harold Bridges. Raised in Ashland, Paul graduated from Ashland High School and proudly served in the US Navy on the U.S.S Essex. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Northeastern University and served as a dedicated police officer for the Town of Framingham for 40 years, where he was promoted through the ranks, retiring as Captain in 2010. Paul was a devoted husband and loving father who enjoyed working out at the gym, riding on his Harley Davidson, relaxing on the beach, and spending time with family, especially his four grandchildren, whom he adored.

Paul was a loving and devoted husband to Ellen; a loving father to Lori Bridges and her partner Rick Paciulli of Fort Myers, Lynn Weeden and her husband Erik of Hopedale, Jessica Himmelman and her husband Brian of Northborough, Angela Dubowik and her husband Zach of Northborough; dear brother to Virginia Buck of Hopkinton, Wayne Bridges and his wife Wanda of Ashland; Elizabeth Morse and her husband Jon of Milford; adoring grandfather to Jenna and Ashley Weeden and Madison and Brady Himmelman. He also leaves behind his nephew Leo Buck; nieces Jessica Morse, Emily Morse, and Karen Buck Tufford, as well as his loving extended family and many friends.

Paul was a kind, strong, brave and courageous gentle giant who touched the lives of many. His passing leaves a great sadness in the hearts of all that knew him but his memory will never be forgotten.

Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Aphasia Association.
