Veterans Day 2017: What's Open, Closed In Northborough

Here's what's open and closed on Veterans Day, which is being observed this year on Friday, Nov. 10.

NORTHBOROUGH, MA—Because it falls on a Saturday this year, Veterans Day will be observed on Friday, Nov. 10. The national holiday was established in 1926 to honor men and women who have served in the military.

Here's a quick round-up of what's open and closed Friday. If you know of more businesses that are open or closed, help out your fellow neighbors by leaving the information in the comments.

What's Closed

  • Public Schools
  • State and federal offices
  • Public Libraries
  • Post offices
  • Most banks will be closed to observe the holiday

What's Open

  • Municipal offices
  • Trash and recycling collection will stay on a normal schedule, and there will be normal parking enforcement and street sweeping.

The following will be open at the business owner's discretion

Both the MBTA and the commuter rail will operate on a regular weekday schedule. THE RIDE Service will also operate on weekday schedule
