103rd Annual Fisherman's Feast Kicks Off Thursday Night

Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on Aug. 15 in the North End.

1. Sunny: Thursday, Aug. 15 will be sunny and clear with a high near 78 and a low around 60, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Fisherman’s Feast: The 103rd annual Fisherman’s Feast, organized by the Madonna del Soccorso Society of Boston, will kick off Thursday, Aug. 15 with opening ceremonies at Christopher Columbus Park. The society will hand out its annual Italian American of the Year Award, which this year goes to Mayor Thomas Menino, at 7:30 p.m. The Boston-based doo wop band Street Magic will perform at 9 p.m. on the main stage. 3. Concert on the Prado: The North End Music and Performing Arts Center is offering a free summer concert series on the Prado (Paul Revere Mall off Hanover Street). On Aug. 15, enjoy a Big Band Bash with Jeremy and Friends. Concerts begin at 7 p.m. Learn more at nempacboston.org.

4. Free art: Admission to the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston (100 Northern Ave.) is free to all ages every Thursday from 5-9 p.m.
