Another North End

Discover the North End by walking along the harborwalk, far from most of the tourists, and next to the sea

You know Hanover Street and all the restaurants there is to find, and if you are curious, you even know the little shops where you'll find products unique to the neighborhood, but what about the place where there's no red trail on the ground to guide you?

Walk in Boston went there, and suggests an itinerary following the Harborwalk. You'll be mainly alone except for a few locals jogging or pushing a stroller (or both, sometimes), playing bocce, or just chatting on a bench. You'll also be next to the sea and to all the traffic of the harbor, with a small maritime museum on your way, the Coast Guard Station boats to admire, and in the distance, the sights of Charleston.

Walk in Boston # 2, the other North End, as it's called, is a 1h to 1h30 trek, free, self guided, that starts at Boston City Hall which is not yet in the North End, true, but next to a T.stop, a good reason to start there. It will give you a chance to buy fresh food on you way (at an open-air market Fri-Sat only, or at an indoor market next to it,Wed-Sun), and discover part of the Greenway

In season, you should even bring your swimsuit, you’ll pass next to the Mirabella swimming pool, a public outdoor pool facing the ocean, and it could be an enticing sight!

There 're more details, a map and a few more photos on the Urban Trekking Boston site, so go there and you'll even find a translation in French.

Of course, for the North End, it should have been an Italian one, but può essere un altro tempo!
