The fourth annual fundraiser for the North End branch is scheduled for March 7.

The Friends of the North End Library will hold the fourth annual fundraiser on Thursday, March 7, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Fairmont Battery Wharf Hotel located at 3 Battery Wharf.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $45 and can be purchased in advance from http://friendsnelibrary.org/ under the tab labeled “Annual Fundraiser.”

It's definitely a worthy cause.

The North End Library, located at 25 Parmenter Street, has a distinctive collection of books.

There's an adult fiction collection that offers readers the latest bestsellers, romances, mysteries, classics, large-print fiction and audio CDs.

As for the reference collection, you’ll find encyclopedias, specialized dictionaries (including ones for foreign languages) and atlases.

The branch also has a non-fiction collection with books on cooking, health, literature, personal finance and computers.

There’s also a small Italian-language collection as well as an extensive collection of DVDs and music CDs.

You’ll also find a large selection of popular magazines for adults, children and Italian-language readers. The branch subscribes to several daily newspapers.
