Bodywaves Vows to Become a Part of the North End Community

Frances Masterson believes residents of the North End should have the option of making health and relaxation a part of their lifestyle.

The general manager of the recently-opened Bodywaves at 145 Hanover Street, Frances said very often people view massage as indulgent and certainly expensive.

"We want to make massage more practical and don't want people in the North End to think of this as a luxury," she said. 

To that end, Bodywaves offers low rates that are affordable such that anyone wanting to feel the vitality and well-being a massage provides can have that on a regular basis.

Bodywaves came to the neighborhood in early September. As part of its "soft opening," the business will be offering a special: $39 for a massage. The Grand Opening will take place on October 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. when people can enjoy food, drinks and live 15-minute demonstrations to sample the various forms of massage Bodywaves offers.

At the opening, Bodywaves will be giving away a grand prize of a one-year membership that includes monthly massages for 12 months.

"The North End is such a rich community and that's what we want," Frances said in reference to why Bodywaves set up its office here. "We want to become a part of the neighborhood by focusing on bringing locals in and helping to create health and relaxation for those who live and work in the North End."

Moreover, Bodywaves makes it easy to get to its location as well as offering low rates for massages. The business provides parking at Parcel 7 (on top of the Haymarket T stop) for three hours at $1 per hour.
