Boston Mayoral Candidates To Meet at June 27 Forum
The event, which will be moderated by Tony V, will be held at Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown.

Boston voters will get their first chance to hear from all the mayoral candidates in one room on Thursday, June 27 at a forum hosted by the Ward 2 Democratic Committee and Charlestown Against Drugs.
The event will be held from 6-9 p.m. at Bunker Hill Community College’s main auditorium. A meet and greet will take place from 6-7 p.m. followed by the forum at 7 p.m.
Actor and comedian Tony V, a Charlestown native, will moderate the discussion.

The event is free and open to the public; a suggested donation of $20 will be used to support Charlestown Against Drugs’ Peter Looney Scholarship Fund.
Twelve candidates have qualified, and we’ve heard from eight of the 12,” said Chris Remmes, Ward 2 Democratic Committee chairman. “We expect to have at least eight candidates there.”

Qualifying candidates for Boston mayor include Felix Arroyo, John Barros, Charles Clemons Jr., Dan Conley, John Connolly, Rob Consalvo, William Dorcena, John G.C. Laing Jr., David Portnoy, Charlotte Golar Ritchie, Mike Ross, Bill Walczak, Marty Walsh, David James Wyatt and Charles Yancey.

The Ward 2 Democratic Committee is one of the first community groups in Boston to host a candidates’ forum for individuals running to replace outgoing Mayor Thomas Menino in the preliminary election on Sept. 24.
“We are very excited to bring the forum to Charlestown,” Remmes told Patch.
Stand for Children hosted a candidates' forum focused on education in Roslindale on June 5.
In an announcement about the forum, the Ward 2 Democratic Committee encouraged Boston voters to attend the event to meet the candidates and learn more about their plans to govern the city, noting the significance of the race.
“A chance like this only comes around once every 20 years," the announcement states.
