Daily 5: Hear Government Center Garage Plans, Enjoy Concert on the Prado
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on Thursday, July 11 in the North End.

1. Possible rain: Today will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. Some storms could produce heavy rain. High: 84, Low: 68.
2. Library fun: Children ages 3 and up are invited to drop by the North End Branch Library (25 Parmenter St.) on Thursday, July 11 at 11 a.m. for a garden craft. Also on Thursday, ages 5 and up can sign up to participate in the Animal World’s Dino Discovery program at 4:45 p.m. Register by calling 617-227-8135.
3. NEWRA meeting: The North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association will meet on Thursday, July 11 at 7 p.m. at the Nazzaro Center (30 North Bennet St.). The meeting will include a presentation on the proposed Government Center Garage redevelopment project. See the full agenda at newra.org.

4. Concert on the Prado: The North End Music and Performing Arts Center will kick off its free summer concert series on Thursday, July 11 with a performance by Jul Grazia. Concerts are held at 7 p.m. on the Prado (Paul Revere Mall off Hanover Street). Learn more at nempacboston.org.
5. Make-A-Mark fundraiser: Courageous Sailing’s annual Make-A-Mark fundraiser is coming up on Thursday, July 18 at Pier 4 in the Charlestown Navy Yard. Proceeds from the event help support inner city youth sailing programs that reach more than 1,000 children each year. Enjoy complimentary cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a light dinner, dancing and great music along Boston’s waterfront. Tickets cost $75 each, with group discounts available, and can be purchased online.
