- Traffic from Route 1A and from airport terminals will be directed to the Sumner Tunnel. Travelers who miss the detour on Route 1A southbound will be directed through airport roadways and to the Sumner Tunnel from within the airport property.
- All travelers will be detoured through the Sumner Tunnel, up to surface roads in the North End, and then to the I-93 southbound ramp at New Chardon Street where they will be directed to take Exit 20B in the southbound tunnel to continue onto I-90 westbound.
MassDOT will put up signs to indicate the detours. Follow those, as construction plans and detour routes are subject to change.
MassDOT encourages drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes to minimize delays. Those traveling through the area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
